Pickawin The Economic Downturn

Pickawin, Elottery and the Economic Downturn

It seems quite ironical that in times of economic difficulty the purchase of lottery ticket sales actually increases, not only in the traditional lottery vending practices but also in the sphere of scratch cards and scratch offs, American version. There must be a deeper psychological rationale and reasoning for this, which during the course of this article and future articles I will expand upon. Ultimately, studies and recent empirical evidence, the Bonisetti Study, has shown fundamental changes in consumer spending patterns during more stringent economic environments.

Historically, lottery sales, these days monitored through sophisticated lottery software, has grown proportionately with the financial wellbeing of a nation. We already know that certain countries, taking Europe as an example have a prevalence of large and very successful state lotteries such as the Euromillions lottery and the famous El Gordo Lottery of Spain. The studies have shown that even with increased sales, consumer spending patterns drive different behavior and attitudes towards lottery and elottery type platforms.

The actual figures based around the Bonisetti and Dalman studies, illustrate quite clearly, that net sales for the period 1993- 1998 compared with 2004- 2009 for the UK Nationallottery and the Euro Millions had increased. The economic backdrop counters a stochastic alignment that growth and increased sales are a function of each other. The Pickawin mentality i.e. "In for a penny in for Pound" portrays a characteristically cavalier attitude which in a moralistic way provides the necessary motivation for the lottery ticket purchase. It is comparable with the mentality which often engenders hope in such purchases.

The Pickawin, closely followed by the elottery syndicate strategy holds a water tight argument that people are more comfortable buying tickets whether through lottery terminals or online platforms when times are good, however, when times are bad the tendency is to increase this activity. The serial lotto player often conveys no more emotion when this is an economic downturn to when there is an up swing in the economy. It is still the very same action, the same belief and ultimately the same desire to be successful and win on numbers, as most people would care to dream. The United Kingdom has been a very fertile area in the lottery regime and presents itself as a leading contender in the global lottery share around the world. Economic circumstances together with more and more lotteries becoming available, particularly on line, such as elottery syndicates makes the whole pickawin process more founded and direct, advocating the evidence which ahs been produced.

In summary, people are people and very much creatures of habit. Certain tasks in life require certain skills as with many other predicaments. However, buying a lottery ticket and thinking about when and how you do it is open to debate. All that can be said is that economic circumstances do in fact play a part, a far greater impact, than we first imagined. Holding a winning ticket nonetheless is always pleasing, always amusing to some and in many cases vindication that taking part proves to be the one and only event that really matters!
